Montmartre walking tour

About This Activity

Beyond the tourist folklore, feel the deep, secular spirituality of the “Mount of Martyrs”, from the Romanesque abbey church, inaugurated in 1133, to the prominent Basilica of the Sacred Heart, inaugurated in 1918. Appreciate the 18th century “follies”, such as the Château des brouillards, rich country houses built amidst vineyards and mills. Attached to Paris in 1860, the hilltop of Montmartre became a focal point for the artistic ferment of Impressionism and “bohemian life”. Follow in the footsteps of Van Gogh, Renoir, Suzanne Valadon, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso…by discovering Le Lapin agile, La bonne franquette, La maison rose, le Moulin de la galette, and by visiting the museum of Montmartre!
